Privacy Policy

Rao users have the option of using OpenAI's or Anthropic's models to assist them in RStudio. This page details the privacy policies and data handling practices of both providers.

OpenAI API

  • TLS 1.2+ encryption in transit & AES-256 encryption at rest
  • Data kept ≤ 30 days for abuse monitoring, then purged (policy-flagged data kept longer for safety)
  • Your data is never used to train OpenAI models
  • Staff access is tightly restricted & audited

Anthropic API (Claude)

  • TLS 1.2+/AES-256-GCM encryption end-to-end
  • Inputs/outputs deleted within 30 days (policy-flagged data kept longer for safety)
  • No model-training on your prompts
  • Limited, logged human access only for abuse review

Lotas

  • Lotas uses PostHog to monitor usage and analytics to improve Rao
  • Lotas does not store conversations from its users
  • Lotas does not use any user data to train models

Important Notice About Sensitive Data

Important: If you are working with data that falls under HIPAA compliance or regulations, or any other sensitive or secure data, we do not recommend inputting this data into our product at this time.

Lotas is actively working to sign a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with OpenAI to allow our users to input data under HIPAA regulations. We are also working to acquire Zero Data Retention agreements from both OpenAI and Anthropic to provide additional privacy protections for our users.
